Widhya Asih Children's Homes

The Foundation is supporting the Widhya Asih Foundation in Bali, an organisation that runs seven children’s homes throughout the island, caring for over 500 children.

Established by the Protestant Church in Bali in 1975, Widhya Asih means a house of knowledge and love.   They are supporting children from a variety of different backgrounds. Some are orphans, former street children, children who have been sexually abused, unwanted babies and children from very poor families, all with no hope.

Riverview Children's Foundation is supporting two of their children's homes, located in West Bali.  The Widhya Asih 11 home is located in the village of Blimbingsari; about 3 hours drive from Kuta. There are 75 children aged from 2 to 12 years old. They attend the local primary school.  The Widhya Asih V home is located in Melaya and there are 125 children aged 13 to 16 years who attend the local junior high school.

Besides going to school, the children learn a variety of activities such as Balinese dance, music, painting, gardening, sewing, sports and they also help with the agricultural projects which are growing vegetables and breeding chickens, pigs and cows.

The Foundation is supporting the food and education costs for these children.
