One of the major problems that exist in Cambodia is that men, women, and children are trafficked for forced labor and sexual exploitation. There are a number of NGO’s responding to the needs of women and child victims, but often the forgotten victims of human trafficking are young males.
The Foundation is partnering with CaterHelp, a new social enterprise organization that provides catering services in Phnom Penh, in order to empower young males recovering from such trauma. The restaurant ‘Jacob’s Well’ was opened in February 2010 and is aiming to employ 10 young men in its first year of operation.
CaterHelp is using a sustainable model to provide valuable vocational skills and create jobs for young men, while also emotionally supporting their rehabilitation. The skills taught at CaterHelp are life-long values that will empower its employees for success.
