2010 Charity Golf Day

Calling all Golfers! Our annual charity golf day will be held on Tuesday 4th May at Mt Lawley Golf Club, Perth.Over the past 3 years this event has raised over $80,000 for children in need around the world. Our goal this year is to raise $25,000 for Teen Challenge in Cambodia.

Teen Challenge is an excellent drug rehabilitation program. There is a huge need for well-run programs of its kind in Cambodia due to the number of young people with drug addictions.

We need your help toraise funds for a new vehicle for the centre and to support their rehabilitation program.

Even if you're not a golfer, perhaps you could donate an item for the charity auction or helpspread the word about the event. It's guaranteed to be a fun and social day, where both serious golfers and 'once a year hacks' can get involved and support the cause!

Register by 23 April. Download the registration brochure for more details.

Empowering Former Street Children in Rwanda

Last year our Rwanda Impact Team had the privilege of meeting Alain, a courageous young man living at AEE'sCentre for Champions.

His story is not unlike that of many young people the Foundation is supporting in Rwanda.

He was orphaned through the genocide and went to live with his uncle. When he was 9 years old his uncle died. Helived alone and began to drink alcohol to numb his pain. He was desperate for help.

Two years ago he was rescued by a local church and taken to live at the Centre for Champions, where he now has the opportunity to finish school through the Centre's catch-up school program. His resilience and hope for the future is amazing!

In his own words he describes his life since being rescued..."Now I love many things. I love God andI love people. I have food, I have clothes, I have everything".

2010 Impact Trips

Could 2010 be your year to go?

Since our first trip in 2002 we've seen the incredible value of doing these trips - both to the people that we go to serve and the people who volunteer to go.

In the July school holidays, we're planning trips to Rwanda and Ukraine. Applications close30 April.

In the October school holidays, we're calling for young adults tojoin the Cambodia Impact Trip. Read more about the 2010 Trips.
