Mission & Vision

two local women

The Mission of the Riverview Children's Foundation is to promote and support projects that reduce suffering and provide options for forgotten children in crisis, globally.

The Vision is that we see children in crisis (not restricted to but including prostitution, abandonment, trafficking, and imprisonment) rescued, protected and empowered to live out their lives richly and, where possible, contribute fully back into their own communities and cultures.

We are currently partnering with projects in Rwanda, Kenya Cambodia, Thailand and Ukraine. As we expand, our goal is to identify and partner with projects in other South East Asian and African countries.

Word from the Chairperson

When I dream of a perfect world, it always includes children living out their childhood without fear, exploitation or abuse. For a number of reasons children often become the innocent victims of the worst of humanity. Add to this the fact that those children are defenceless and have a collective voice that is not easily heard, and one has a recipe for horror.

However, what I hear are the cries of everyday people wanting to make a difference in a child's life. We all sense the injustice, feel the compassion and want to be involved, but often simply don't know how.

Riverview Children's Foundation exists to make a real difference in these young and desperate lives. For the most part this will mean us partnering with workers already in the field. Thousands of people are today providing shelter for orphans; food for the homeless; health support for children with AIDS and other diseases; or education and training for street kids who have had few options other than selling their bodies.

The Foundation supports the projects outlined on this website and will continue to find projects rescuing, protecting and empowering children's lives.

I am privileged to lead the Riverview Children's Foundation in its desire to change the way things are in the lives of these children. We believe that this world is meant to be a wonderful world but just as its horror is often people driven, its wonder must be as well. Thank you for partnering with us in this vital cause.
